On February 29, 2024, the renovated Municipal Cultural and Educational Center "Planetarium with Astronomical Observatory" was officially opened in the town of Smolyan. A musical greeting was given by cosmonaut Valya Balkanska and piper Petar Yanev. The secretary of the Episcopal vicarage, priest-economist Zapryan Shikov, held a vodosvet for the health, prosperity and success of the star institution.
Greetings were given by the mayor Nikolay Melemov, the director of the Planetarium Tsvetelina Gencheva and the regional governor Zahari Sirakov.
